Privacy Policy
How Military Creator (The Kadre, LLC) collects, uses, shares and protects information on the Military Creator Index at creators.militarycreator.com.
Last updated September 13, 2026
Information we collect
We hold information about two groups of people: the creators listed in the Index, and the visitors who use the site.
- Public sources. Unclaimed profiles are built from publicly available information: official and professional biographies, organization pages, public social accounts, published work and reputable media coverage. We record the name, headline, biography, expertise, public links, publicly stated location and, where public, branch of service.
- Claims and applications. When someone claims a profile or applies to join, we collect their name, email address, relationship to the creator, the confirmation method they chose and the details they enter, including any evidence such as a public link or a temporary bio code.
- Accounts. Approved creators sign in with a one-time email link. We store the account email address, sign-in timestamps, notification preferences, profile drafts, submitted changes and uploaded photos. We never store a password.
- Inquiries. When a visitor sends an inquiry or a shortlist brief, we collect their name, email address, organization, message and the optional qualification details they add: collaboration type, budget range, timing, deliverables and usage needs, plus which creators the inquiry concerns.
- Requests. Corrections, removal, privacy and copyright requests are stored with the contact details and information the requester provides.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider logs requests, including IP address, browser type and the pages visited, for security and operations. We do not run advertising trackers.
The shortlist is saved only in your browser on your device. It is not sent to us until you submit a shortlist inquiry, and we cannot see it otherwise.
Internal military affiliation
For internal review we record a creator's military connection, such as active duty, veteran, Guard or Reserve, or military spouse, along with a supporting source and a review date. This affiliation is held in a restricted field that only authorized Military Creator administrators can read. It is never shown publicly, never exposed through the site's data responses, filters, collections or exports, and never used as a public badge.
Public profiles show branch of service and creator-approved wording only. A creator can change or revoke that wording at any time from their dashboard or through a request, and the public site then falls back to the neutral label "Military-connected creator."
How we use information
- To build, publish and maintain profiles in the Index and to verify them.
- To review claims, applications and profile changes and to communicate about them.
- To route inquiries to the Military Creator team for review. We do not pass a visitor's inquiry to a creator automatically and we do not share a creator's private contact details with visitors.
- To send account emails such as sign-in links, review outcomes and verification notices.
- To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases
Where data-protection law such as the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on these bases:
- Legitimate interests for building and verifying profiles from public sources, running an accurate professional directory, routing inquiries, keeping the site secure and preventing abuse. We balance these interests against creators' and visitors' rights, and anyone can object or ask for removal.
- Performance of a contract for accounts, claims, applications and profile management requested by the creator.
- Consent for optional material a creator chooses to publish, such as a photo, public location or public wording about their military background. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
- Legal obligation where we must keep or disclose records.
We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. Every claim, change, verification and request is reviewed by a person.
Cookies and browser storage
The public site sets no cookies. A sign-in cookie is set only for creators who sign in to their dashboard, and it is strictly necessary to keep them signed in. Your shortlist is kept in your browser's local storage on your device and is not sent to us. We use no analytics, advertising or social-media cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of and we show no cookie banner. Details are in the Cookie Policy.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers who process data on our behalf under their own security commitments:
- Supabase for the database, sign-in and photo storage.
- Netlify for hosting, request logs and form submissions.
- Resend for sending email from index@militarycreator.com.
- Google Fonts for the typefaces on the site, which means your browser requests font files from Google.
Sharing
Profile information that a creator or public source has made public is shown on the site and to search engines. We do not sell personal information. We share information with the providers above, with a creator when a request concerns their own profile, when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of creators, visitors and Military Creator. Inquiries are shared with a creator only after the team has reviewed them and the creator has agreed to hear about the opportunity.
International transfers
Military Creator is based in the United States and our providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, this means your information may be transferred to countries with different data-protection laws. Our providers use recognised safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for those transfers.
Marketing and other sites
We send transactional email only: sign-in links, review outcomes, verification notices and replies to your requests. We do not send marketing email and do not share addresses with anyone for that purpose. Profiles link to creators' public accounts and websites; those sites have their own privacy practices, and we do not connect to their platform APIs or import data from them.
Retention
We keep information only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, unless a legal obligation or dispute requires longer:
Security
Access to the database is governed by row-level permissions, so creators can only read and edit their own drafts and internal fields are unreadable outside the administrator role. Sign-in uses one-time email links rather than passwords. Sensitive service records such as a DD-214 or military ID are never requested as a standard verification method and are not stored. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell affected people if a breach affects their information as the law requires.
Your choices and privacy requests
Anyone can ask us to correct a profile, remove a listing or photo, revoke public military wording, tell them what information we hold about them, or delete information they submitted. You do not need to claim a profile to make a request. Use the Corrections, Removal & Privacy Requests page or email index@militarycreator.com. We aim to answer within 30 days and may ask for enough information to confirm you are the person concerned or authorized to act for them.
Depending on where you live you may have the right to:
- know what information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- have information deleted;
- restrict or object to processing based on our legitimate interests, including profiling from public sources;
- receive information you gave us in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on it;
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
California residents. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we have not done so in the past twelve months. The categories we collect are listed above: identifiers, professional information, and the contents of what you submit. You may exercise the rights to know, delete and correct through the request page or by email, and you may use an authorized agent.
EEA, UK and Swiss residents. You may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. We would appreciate the chance to resolve any concern first.
Account emails that are required to run the service, such as sign-in links and review outcomes, cannot be switched off while the account exists. Optional notifications can be changed in the dashboard settings.
Children
The Index is for professional creators and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly list or collect information about them, and we will remove it on request.
Changes and contact
We will post any changes to this policy on this page with a new date, and we will tell account holders by email about changes that materially affect them.
Questions and requests: index@militarycreator.com, or by post to The Kadre, LLC, San Antonio, Texas. Requests without an account can be made on the requests page.
